Rev. Dr. Robert Newton served as a missionary in the Philippines from 1977 to 1983, as professor of world missions at Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Ind., from 1985 until 1998, as senior pastor to a multi-cultural congregation in San Jose, California, and as president of the California-Nevada-Hawaii District from 2003 until his retirement in 2018.
