The title for this Collaboration came from a comment that a physicist made reflecting on the Christian’s life and witness in their community. Light is an energy (electromagnetic radiation) that, when it interacts with objects in darkness, those objects come to be seen. In every community, the Apostle Paul says, each Christians’ life is to be lived as children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom they shine as lights in the world. (Phil.2:15) To “shine as lights” does not primarily mean shining a light on folks so that their sin can be seen. Rather, it means that they begin to see themselves as we do: perfectly loved, redeemed, by an all-merciful God. When they take notice of God’s children, hopefully they see “our good works” and give glory to our Father in heaven. Please join us in Chandler, AZ

Matthew 5:14-16: “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
